      Chemicals on Farms

Employers must protect everyone  who may be exposed to these by complying with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
Failing to control hazardous substances adequately can cause employees or any person with contact  to become ill – possibly not until a few years later.

Effects from hazardous substances could range from eye irritation to lung disease and sometimes can be life threatening

This may result in prosecution, or result in civil claims from employees

See COSHH
The most common hazardous chemicals used in farming are:

pesticides
ammonium nitrate
veterinary medicines
Sheep Dips

As per DEFRA
